About Vancouver

In Vancouver, there's a ritual that takes place every evening, just as the sun dips towards the western horizon. Not many cities can compete with the stunning views from most Vancouver office towers and the natural beauty of the surrounding ocean and mountains.

Visitors come for the same reasons residents remain: a fabulous outdoor setting, a clean and safe urban environment and a culture that welcomes diversity.

Vancouver's downtown offers convenience and prestige. Unlike the centres of many world cities where office workers flood out of the city and into their homes in the suburbs each night, Vancouver's downtown is active, vibrant and safe. The downtown neighbourhoods keep the core thriving long after dark, and downtown is the entertainment mecca for residents and visitors alike. As well, continuing education in the downtown core is big business. Schools such as Simon Fraser University, Vancouver Community College, the B.C. Institute of Technology and the Vancouver Film School have put a strong emphasis on being where the need is greatest, and have located to the downtown core.
